A recent survey, “Do You Know Your Rights?, conducted by Queer Geography, Prague Pride, CHR PF UK, and Legebitra, has revealed alarming trends concerning the situation of LGBTQ+ people in the Czech Republic. The results highlight not only a significant increase in discrimination and violence - 42% of respondents reported experiencing discrimination or harassment in the past year, marking a rise compared to previous years - but also a concerning statistic: 23% of respondents faced physical or sexual violence. Furthermore, the survey revealed that 90% of incidents of discrimination or violence go unreported due to a lack of trust in institutions.

Another issue uncovered is the low level of legal awareness among LGBTQ+ individuals. Only 44% of respondents know how to assert their rights through the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. Additionally, only 5% of respondents trust the political representation in the Czech Parliament, while more than half (51%) believe they can seek protection of their rights at the Constitutional Court. The survey results emphasize the need for legislative changes and support for victims of discrimination, as well as the introduction of marriage equality for all couples in the Czech Republic.
